    There are certain works of art that so perfectly capture the full measure and unique gifts of their creator that they have stood through time as representative for the genius of that artist.  They are, in effect, the virtual “signature” of their author.  Along with their status as critically admired high water marks in art, a select few also earn the unconditional love of general audiences and are equally lauded as popular favorites.  These rare works never age, they are impressive under all circumstances in which they are considered - - they are incorruptible and immortal, and their creators are made immortal through them.  Such a masterpiece is Richard Wagner’s Die Walküre.
